Luigi Cirillo

Baritono

He studied and graduated at the National Conservatory of Music in Salerno, (Italy), under the tuition of M° Rosetta Arena, M° Carlo Tuand, and M° Ciro Visco, later with the tenor Nazzareno Antinori.


He has attended several masterclasses with reknowned singers such as Rolando Panerai, Gianni Raimondi, Fiorenza Cossotto, Gabriella Tucci, and was also a student of the great tenor LUCIANO PAVAROTTI.

 

In 1999, he won the Mario Lanza Competition in Isernia, singing the role of Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana by P. Mascagni and in the same year, he was a guest at the The Court Theatre in Naples in a concert for the European Commission Delegation in Italy.


In the event “Tribute of Pavarotti” in Correggio (RE), he was awarded the “Pavarotti d’oro”.

 

In 2010 he partecipated as a solist baritone at the creation of Puccini’s “Tosca” and “La Fanciulla del West” DVD, for the Puccini Festival Foundation of Torre del Lago.


With his considerable vocal and interpretative abilities he is able to undertake a wide- ranging repertoire displaying an impressive stage presence in both comic and brilliant roles.

 

He has made debut as a soloist in the following maior theatres:

 

The Giuseppe Verdi Municipal Theatre in Salerno,
Theatre Regio in Parma,
The San Carlo Theatre in Naples,

Puccini Festival Foundation,
The Modern Theatre in Grosseto,
The Alfonso Rendano Theatre in Cosenza,
The Francesco Cilea Theatre in Reggio Calabria,

Theatre Politeama in Catanzaro,
The Ventidio Basso Theatre in Ascoli Piceno,

 

The Community Theatre in Mantua.


He has sung with famous conductors such as Janos Acs, Vito Lo Re, Nicola Luisotti, Zubin Mehta, Miguel Roa, Riccardo Frizza, Lorenzo Castriota Skanderbeg,Valery Gergiev, Evelino Pidò, Tadeusz Serafin, Guillaume Tourniaire, Carlo Palleschi, Gabriele Ferro Giuseppe Acquaviva, Alberto Veronesi, Pier Giorgio Morandi and Fabio Mastrangelo.


He has also worked with well-known directors such as Riccardo Canessa, Franco Esposito, Henning Brockhaus, Giulio Ciabatti, Mario Corradi, Maurizio Marchini, Eike Gramss, Daniele Abbado, Jorge Lavelli, Mario De Carlo, Italo Nunziata, Beppe De Tomasi, Kirsten Harms.
